Institutional Training
I graduated in 1985 from Durham Technical Institute in Durham, North Carolina with an Associates Degree. This was one of the top 3 dental lab schools in the country however my real training began when a prosthodontist and an associate faculty member to the Pankey Institute took me under his wings and showed me how little I knew about occlusion and the entire masticatory system. He instructed me to go to Pankey and it opened my eyes. From that point forward I was on a major fact finding mission to learn all I could about function and esthetics. It has lead me to the Dawson Center and Pankey many times. I studied with Russell Devreugd, CDT as well as Dr. William Strupp. I am involved with 3 study groups, a Dawson/Pankey style occlusion group, a diagnosis and treatment planning group (Seattle Study Club of Akron) as well as a group of doctors who meet in Colorado. I have studied with many great names and have been fortunate to have been lead to understand the whole system as well as the materials. Many of these names include Dr. Henry Gremillion, Dr. Fred Cory, Dr. Parker Mahan, Dr. Greg Tarantola, Dr. Michael Kadair, Dr. Dennis Tarnow, Dr. Gordon Christenson, Mr. Matt Roberts, Mr. Lee Culp, Mr Willi Geller and many other great technicians. I am an active member of the National Association of Dental Laboratories as well as the current president of the Ohio Dental Laboratory Association. I also own and run the Northcoast Centre for Continued Dental Studies, an educational facility for general dentists as well as specialists, assistants, hygenists and technicians.

Dentistry is a constant learning enviroment. Knowing what I know about occlusion and centric relation / centric occlusion, I feel qualified to help anyone coming from Pankey or Dawson in implementing the philosophical changes necessary to enrich your practice but more importantly your lives.
